Monday, May 11th, 7:45am – 5:15pm (meet at the Hotel Murano at 7:45am, depart at 8:00am sharp, return to Hotel Murano by 5:15pm)

Field trip Part 1: Woodland Creek Groundwater Recharge Facility

Part 1 Details:

Site Address: 6729 Pacific Avenue SE, Lacey WA 98503

Duration: 2.5 hours (transport between stops provided by bus/van)

What’s Included:

  • Educational materials and tour of critical equipment at control kiosk, including chlorine analyzer, electrical panel, and SCADA monitor
  • Staff gauge demonstration for Woodland Creek depth measurement
  • Boxed lunch provided at Woodland Creek Park Community Center

What to bring:

  • Weather-appropriate layers
  • Boots for muddy conditions
  • Optional: binoculars, reusable water bottle

Field Trip Part 2: Hawks Prairie Ponds and Recharge Facility

Part 2 Details:

Address: 3001 Hogum Bay Road NE, Lacey WA 98516

Duration: 2.0 hours (transport between stops provided by bus/van)

What’s Included:

  • Guided tour of 40-acre site with 5 ponds and 8 recharge basins
  • Transport from Martin Way Reclaimed Water Plant to recharge basins
  • Reclaimed infiltration study discussing fate and transport of residual chemicals (CECs)

  • Boots for muddy conditions
  • Optional: binoculars, reusable water bottle
